The Opportunity

Join an innovative team at a world-leading university as a Research Fellow, GP Medical Educator, contributing to SPHERE’s mission to improve women’s health in primary care. This position will provide medical educational material in relation to current projects in SPHERE, including the Endometriosis Management Plan (Endo-MP) project and the AusCAPPS Network. The position is central to advancing the project, supporting better navigation and management of endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain in primary care settings. It also plays a key role in the AusCAPPS Network, an online community of practice aimed at increasing access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and early medical abortion (EMA) services across Australia. The position focuses on developing educational tools and resources to enhance the knowledge and skills of primary care practitioners nationwide.

The Research Fellow, GP Medical Educator will work collaboratively with key partners, such as the RACGP, to design and deliver webinars, e-learning modules and other educational materials that address critical gaps in primary care education. The role is instrumental in ensuring that general practice perspectives are embedded in project activities, supporting research and resource development to improve clinical practice. By fostering engagement within primary care networks and interdisciplinary teams, this position drives meaningful advancements in education and support for practitioners delivering women’s health care.

This role requires expertise in medical education and research, supported by a general practitioner qualification with clinical experience in women’s health. Knowledge of mixed-method research, stakeholder consultation, or public health will further strengthen the delivery of impactful outcomes.
