The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director - Legal Services, Data and Privacy to play a critical role within the Office of the General Counsel. This is a senior leadership role, managing a close-knit team of lawyers and reporting directly to the General Counsel. The successful candidate will also be part of a collaborative and supportive Leadership group within the Office of the General Counsel (OGC).
In this role, you will provide high-level data protection and privacy expertise, ensuring the effective management and enhancement of a comprehensive data protection framework. Your expertise will support the University's compliance with Australian privacy and data protection laws, as well as international legislative requirements.
About You
We are seeking a proactive and responsive commercial lawyer with extensive experience in the field. Experience in data protection and privacy law will be highly regarded. With strong leadership skills, you excel at working with diverse stakeholders and possess exceptional consulting, influencing, and negotiation abilities. You will also have a proven track record of strategically managing and engaging with a broad network of colleagues and senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be adaptable, energised and passionate about working for a University and will be keen to be part of a supportive team, making a difference to the broader community.
