The Opportunity
In the position of Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Lead you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of security policies and plans, with a strong focus on DISP requirements. You will identify Defence requirements within the university context, overseeing practical implementation, and maintaining robust security procedures, driving adherence to DISP policies, and ensuring procedures are DISP compliant to enable the University to maintain its membership. This will mean building close partnerships with senior stakeholders across University research programs, within the Digital and Student Services portfolio, and with Defence, all aimed at enabling Monash to pursue its Defence research aspirations.
About You
You are an expert with a deep working knowledge of the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), and the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), understanding how these apply at various Defence classification levels. Your familiarity with cyber security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, The ASD Essential 8, and the NIST Cyber Security Framework, is comprehensive and well-practiced.
You have a demonstrated understanding of DISP classification levels and the associated ICT, policy, and procedure obligations required at each level, from Baseline to Top Secret. Your highly developed planning and organisational skills enable you to establish priorities, allocate resources effectively, and meet deadlines consistently, whilst your strong stakeholder management expertise will ensure you build productive relationships and effectively communicate complex cyber security and Defence concepts.
