The Opportunity
The Reporting Lead supports the Student Management System (SMS) Transformation Program, by leading the design and implementation of a reporting strategy overseeing the entire project, including the transition from back-end data engineering to front end development for the SMST project.
Directed by the Senior Director, Enterprise Systems and Data, the Reporting Lead will be responsible for creating a data engineering and reporting roadmap. This includes establishing and executing a comprehensive data strategy; having a hands-on approach in building out the data infrastructure; and emphasising technical expertise, leadership and strategy execution, within the Reporting Stream. Critical to the role is being actively engaging in building external relationships to assist in establishing data governance and streamlining data flow across the organisation and drive better engagements both internally and externally.
The Reporting Lead provides expert advice and contributes to the continuous application of best practice through building capability, supporting innovation and sharing of specialist knowledge to further organisational objectives.
The ideal candidate will have;
- Demonstrated, in-depth familiarity with best-practice reporting, data analysis and information visualisation, with proven experience in data modelling and reporting both on prem & cloud, with a key understanding of data governance & best practice use of data standards
- A demonstrated track record in successful programme delivery and the application of contemporary data and reporting management practices, methodologies and tools
- Significant staff management experience with the ability to lead and develop high performance teams at various levels of technical, business and service skill, specifically a team of data analyst, data engineers and reporting specialists.
- Highly developed problem-solving, analytical and conceptual skills including the ability to execute a strategic plan and/or a tailored program of activities that align with and deliver value to key stakeholders working independently as well as within a team
- Superior interpersonal and consulting skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and build understanding of business needs and IT enabled business process reform
