The Opportunity
The School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University is seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Lecturer in Public Relations to become part of our internationally renowned team researching and investigating contemporary media debates and issues. The appointee would teach public relations subjects within the Public Relations stream of the Bachelor of Media Communication and the Master of Strategic Communications. This includes adopting a critical public relations approach aligned to the contemporary modes of strategic communications and digital media.
Situated within the Communications section, there is also an exciting opportunity for the appointee to work with the Constructive Institute Asia Pacific Hub, examining relationships between public relations media, contemporary news processes, and journalism; and the Monash Climate Change Communications Research Hub, which undertakes a range of national and international projects examining climate change communication.
This position presents opportunities to deliver new initiatives for students within our robust internships program and to adopt a truly international approach by collaborating with similar teaching programs at Monash Malaysia.
About You
Your expertise in communications will enhance our research and teaching programs, particularly in areas such as climate change communication, communication and social change, social media communications, promotional culture, environmental communication, and/or intercultural communication.
You will be a research leader with a strong track record in attaining research grants and contributing to global debates on contemporary media. You are also a dedicated educator with a passion for delivering engaging and innovative teaching, with a demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum reform.
