The Opportunity
Work with us at Climateworks Centre and drive impactful research in the agriculture and land use sector. Utilise your expertise to lead complex research activities and support the transition to net zero emissions and nature-positive landscapes.
As the Senior Project Manager - Research, you’ll leverage your specialist knowledge to oversee and deliver high-quality research services for the Land Use Futures program. Your work will be pivotal in achieving significant outcomes in the agriculture and land use sector, aligning with Climateworks Centre’s mission to accelerate the transition to nature-positive net zero emissions.
What you’ll do to succeed:
In this role you’ll lead and manage a range of significant research activities. The role will involve strong collaboration with the Climateworks Research, Analysis, and Modelling team to integrate land use modelling with economy-wide modelling. You’ll draw on your skills to translate research results from the program into actionable knowledge and recommendations for decision-makers whilst engaging with stakeholders across government, business, and civil society to achieve strategic outcomes. The person in this role will also foster strong partnerships and collaborations with our research partners including Deakin University and other stakeholders in the Land Use Futures program. .
What We’re Looking For:
- Postgraduate qualifications or extensive relevant experience in environmental science, agriculture, or related fields.
- A proven ability to interpret data and provide specialist advice.
- Excellent project and budget management skills.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence and build consensus.
- A high-level understanding of land-based sequestration and issues related to land use, biodiversity, agriculture, or food systems.
- Experience with modelling approaches and software, particularly Python and spatial modelling
