The Opportunity

The Data Migration Analyst will join the Student Management System Transformation (SMST) Program, supporting the Data Migration Lead in delivering an end to end data migration solution to enable migration of data from existing Monash systems, to (primarily) a new Student Management System (SMS).

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled analyst, who will ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of data during this complex data migration. This role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, testers, external vendors and business stakeholders, ensuring seamless and efficient data loads and post migration validation processes.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the required technical skills to develop data extraction processes, solve data management issues, provide high-quality data conversion and deliver reporting and dashboarding for data validation/reconciliation purposes.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Demonstrated experience with data migration in a large and complex environment with varying levels of data quality.
  • Strong proficiency with migration tools, data mapping, profiling, cleansing and quality assurance.
  • Expertise in developing complex end to end ETL processes, interactive data visualisations, dashboards and reports using Databricks and Power BI.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and performance optimization. 
  • Superior communication skills to liaise with business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with the capability to identify challenges and recommend actionable solutions
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and exercise independence, judgment, and initiative
  • Familiarity with Python and Callista data is desirable
