The Opportunity

Do you want to drive impactful change in the fight against climate change? Climateworks Centre is looking for a dynamic and committed leader to take on the role of Southeast Asia Lead. In this senior leadership position, your work is pivotal in shaping and executing strategies that significantly reduce emissions across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

Success in this role is through your :

  • Strategic Influence: Lead high-level strategic relationships and partnerships to drive emissions reductions at scale.
  • Program Development: Design and guide impactful programs informed by deep contextual understanding of the political economy and policy landscape.
  • Leadership: Oversee a hybrid team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Global Representation: Represent Climateworks at regional and global forums, influencing key decision-makers and stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the Southeast Asia team to enhance understanding of the regional context and drive system change.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government policymakers, development organisations, and the investment community.
  • Secure program funding and lead business development in new areas of focus.
  • Collaborate closely with the Indonesia Country Lead to align efforts and maximise impact.
  • Represent Climateworks externally, showcasing our leadership values and driving our mission forward.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Educational Excellence: Postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or equivalent management expertise.
  • Regional Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of the climate and political economy context in Southeast Asia.
  • Innovative Spirit: Proven ability to innovate, secure funding, and champion new ideas.
  • Networking Prowess: Strong record of government and industry engagement, with the ability to influence and sustain relationships.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Communication Mastery: Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to represent Climateworks in the media.
