The Opportunity
Are you an Engineering graduate with a passion for teaching? Do you hold a PhD in Engineering? The Faculty of Engineering invites applications for sessional academics to join our dynamic academic teams teaching into our Engineering Masters programs across the five Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering.
Our postgraduate coursework programs consist of the Master of Engineering, the Master of Advanced Engineering, the Master of Professional Engineering and the Master of Transport and Mobility Planning. Designed to take engineering qualifications to the next level, these coursework programs offer a balance of theory and practice, with an emphasis on industry-driven projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise to the education of tomorrow’s Engineering leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging teaching activities in Engineering courses in particular across our Masters in Engineering.
- Develop and update learning materials and incorporate real-world case studies
- Mark and assess student assignments, exams and other coursework in line with established rubrics.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and professional growth
- Maintain academic integrity and uphold the high teaching standards of the Monash Faculty of Engineering
About You!
We are seeking candidates who possess strong academic qualifications in Engineering, currently holding a PhD. If you can also combine with recent or current experience in industry or teaching, your application will be highly considered.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate effective communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with a diverse student cohort, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality, student-centred education. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative academic team. Familiarity with digital learning platforms and contemporary teaching tools will be considered an advantage.
