The Opportunity

Monash University is seeking a Research Officer to join the Monash Antibody Discovery Platform, a globally recognised facility delivering high-quality monoclonal antibodies and antibody technologies to academic and industry partners worldwide.

This is a highly hands-on role supporting antibody discovery, sequencing and cell-based research programs. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operation of the facility, contributing to experimental design, data generation, SOP development and continuous improvement of platform capability.

Working closely with researchers, clients, and platform staff, you will help deliver high-quality outcomes across antibody generation, characterisation and data management, while ensuring safe, compliant and efficient laboratory operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced research professional who enjoys combining technical laboratory work with coordination, data analysis and platform support in a fast-paced, service-oriented research environment.

Your Impact

In this role, you will

  • Perform antibody sequencing activities across Monash Antibody Discovery projects

  • Engineer and manage cell lines for immunisation and screening programs

  • Conduct molecular and cell-based assays, including experimental set-up, data collection and analysis

  • Coordinate sample tracking, archiving and database management

  • Develop, expand and maintain SOPs supporting platform operations and RoboCore workflows

  • Support facility operations including equipment maintenance, ordering and waste management

  • Contribute to reporting, documentation and stakeholder communication

  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, ethics, OHS and regulatory requirements

  • Build strong relationships with researchers, clients and collaborators

You are a capable and motivated research professional with strong technical expertise and a service-oriented mindset. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, take pride in high-quality processes, and are confident supporting complex research programs.

You will bring

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Strong technical, analytical and data management skills

  • Experience working with advanced laboratory technologies and systems

  • Excellent organisational and project coordination capability

  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with researchers and clients

  • A demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics and research quality
