The Opportunity
The Senior Data Analyst plays a key role in delivering complex analytical services that support the strategic and operational priorities of Monash Business School. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, the role identifies, documents and validates business needs, delivering high-quality data analysis, research, benchmarking, modelling and performance monitoring to inform decision-making. The position provides expert advice, reporting and strategic insights on new initiatives, business proposals, planning activities and key organisational priorities.
This role also leads the development and implementation of analytical processes, frameworks and reporting methodologies that enhance service delivery across the Performance and Quality Services team. Supporting major school-wide priorities, the Senior Data Analyst contributes to quality assurance, education portfolio planning, accreditation requirements, student performance reporting and significant strategic data projects, while partnering with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and provide accessible reporting solutions for non-technical users.
About you
You are an experienced data and business analyst with strong expertise in strategic research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and translating complex business challenges into practical, evidence-based solutions. With postgraduate qualifications (or equivalent experience), you bring highly developed analytical, conceptual and organisational skills, along with a proven ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes to deadline.
You excel at building strong stakeholder relationships and partnering with senior leaders to provide trusted, authoritative advice that informs strategic initiatives and decision-making. Your advanced technical capability includes business intelligence and visualisation tools, with particular experience in R, Power BI and SQL, complemented by a strong understanding of research design, statistical analysis and relational database projects.
