The Opportunity

Are you a marketing professional passionate about teaching and inspiring future marketers?

The Department of Marketing in the Faculty of Business and Economics invites applications from industry professionals to join our sessional teaching team. This rewarding role involves facilitating tutorials, contributing to assessment and grading activities, and supporting an engaging, practice-oriented learning environment for students.

We are seeking candidates with strong academic qualifications in Marketing (a Bachelor’s degree or higher) and recent or current experience in marketing, advertising, branding, marketing communications, market research, digital marketing, data analytics or related marketing fields. Ideal applicants will be passionate about student learning, capable of delivering high-quality tutorials that connect marketing theory with real-world practice, and demonstrate careful, consistent application of assessment criteria. Successful candidates will show sound judgement in evaluating student work, a strong commitment to academic integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage marking responsibilities within set deadlines. The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a teaching team is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to bring real-world marketing insights into the classroom and contribute to the development of future marketing professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tutorials or support lead tutors as tutorial/workshop assistants in marketing units at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Assess and grade student assignments, examinations, and other coursework in accordance with established marking rubrics
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and development
  • Maintain academic integrity and uphold the high teaching standards of Monash Business School

As teaching and assessment practices continue to evolve, we particularly welcome applicants who are able to operate in an AI-ready educational environment. This includes familiarity with the appropriate and ethical use of AI tools to support teaching, learning, and assessment, as well as the ability to guide students in developing responsible AI practices.
