The Opportunity
This role will contribute to a Level A research program supporting the ARC-funded project Addressing Gender-based Violence in Volatile and Polarising Times. The Research Fellow will play a key role in strengthening the project’s public-facing impact by supporting digital and media engagement across a range of platforms, including social media (such as X, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok) and traditional media outlets. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating the project website, developing and scheduling content, and supporting the overall social media campaign strategy.
The role will also involve curating and managing public and media artefacts, including digital stories and multimedia content, to support project visibility and engagement. In addition, the Research Fellow will assist with media communications for radio, print and online outlets, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all public-facing materials. Some research support duties will also be required, including checking and cleaning AI-generated transcripts and assisting with basic data coding and organisation, contributing to the broader research effort of the project team.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a master’s degree in a relevant discipline or demonstrate equivalent qualifications or research experience. You will bring skills in internet technologies, social media communication and website maintenance, with the ability to apply initiative, innovation and sound judgement to solve problems and respond to emerging needs.
You will have strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will support high-quality outputs, alongside a strong understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information handling principles. You will work collaboratively within a team environment and demonstrate advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and university systems, with a willingness to learn new software as required.
