The Opportunity

The Faculty of Education is seeking a Level B Research Fellow to contribute to innovative research in teacher development, professional expertise and practice, working directly with the Dean of Education. This opportunity focuses on advancing interdisciplinary research on teacher judgement that will inform curriculum mapping guides, assessment frameworks and professional learning resources as part of a significant multi-year research initiative.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and validation of a research-based measurement scale, engaging in research activities within the HE Impact Lab, and contributing to collaborative interdisciplinary projects with university and external partners. You will produce high-quality research outputs, support grant development and professional engagement activities.

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate advanced expertise in teacher preparation, reflexive practice and professional expertise, supported by a strong understanding of Australian education policy and practice. Highly developed mixed methods research capability is essential, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, research synthesis, survey and interview methodologies, and academic writing. You will have proven experience producing research publications, managing research systems and funding, and communicating complex research outcomes to varied audiences.
