About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice-President, the Executive Director, Financial Control and Operations is a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, responsible for financial control, reporting, tax, finance systems and finance operations across the Monash Group.
Leading a team of approximately 90 through four direct reports, the role oversees statutory and external reporting, group accounting, audit and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, while providing trusted advice to the Executive team, Finance Committee and Risk and Audit Committee.
The Executive Director will also lead significant finance transformation initiatives, including the finance stream of a major ERP implementation, advancing automation and digital capability, strengthening controls and governance, and modernising finance operations. A strategic focus on international tax, leadership capability and continuous improvement will be central to ensuring finance supports Monash's long-term sustainability and global ambitions.
About you
CA or CPA qualified you are a senior finance executive with extensive experience leading broad finance functions in large, complex and multi-jurisdictional organisations. You combine deep technical accounting expertise with a strong track record in finance operations, transformation and organisational change. A Big 4 foundation, complemented by substantial industry experience, is expected.
You bring sophisticated knowledge of financial reporting, governance and international operations, together with experience leading enterprise-scale technology and ERP-enabled transformation. A proven leader of leaders, you build high-performing teams, develop capability and influence effectively across complex stakeholder environments.
Combining sound judgement, commercial acumen and intellectual curiosity, you communicate complex financial matters with clarity and confidence, enabling informed decision-making at executive, committee and board level.
