Employment Opportunities for Fixed-Term Employment Opportunities
Monash is committed to the creation of pathways to more secure fixed-term and continuing employment, where this is appropriate for the individual situation and work category. In line with this commitment, the Faculty of Engineering is seeking expressions of interest from existing sessional staff for fixed-term positions across the following employment categories:
PhD Teaching Fellow employment is for current Monash PhD students who are fulfilling and maintaining the conditions of their doctoral enrolment. It may be offered on a part-time basis for a minimum of 12 months and does not extend beyond the end of the academic year in which the individual's estimated PhD completion date falls. PhD Teaching Fellow employment is an alternative to sessional employment and provides Monash PhD students with practical work experience, professional development, training opportunities and the opportunity for career progression.
PhD Teaching Fellow employment is fixed-term and part-time and will initially be offered for a minimum of 0.1 FTE to a maximum of 0.2 FTE. The fraction can be adjusted through a change of fraction form for a teaching period up to a maximum of 0.6 FTE throughout the duration of the engagement.
