The Opportunity
We invite you to join the leadership team of the Faculty of Law and collaborate closely with our dynamic new Dean, Professor Steven Vaughan, to shape the future of legal education.
As the Faculty General Manager, you will provide strategic leadership to the administrative, resource, and business planning functions of the Faculty. Your role will be crucial in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with the Dean's vision, ensuring the Faculty continues to deliver exceptional academic and research programs.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a Faculty with a rich tradition of making a difference and doing good, exemplified by our Clinical Guarantee which ensures all students engage in pro bono legal work for real clients. You will oversee a diverse portfolio, including student and academic services, financial planning, marketing, and research services, while fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement. With direct supervision of 8 staff and oversight of approximately 50 indirect reports, you will collaborate with University administration to achieve the Faculty's strategic objectives and manage with the Dean and other colleagues a budget of up to $65M.

With extensive operational and executive management experience, you possess outstanding planning, leadership, and management skills, articulate your values clearly and navigate bureaucratic challenges to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Your exceptional interpersonal, communication, and project management skills enable you to negotiate, consult, and build consensus effectively. You have a well-developed understanding of organisational dynamics, and change management methodologies, and your analytical and conceptual skills, combined with a strong understanding of leadership and communication dynamics, inspire staff to achieve organisational goals.
