The Opportunity

The Office of Research Grants and Development has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Senior Awards Officer!

The Senior Awards Officer is a subject matter expert that will provide a range of advisory and administrative services related to effective delivery of services within an Application/Award specialism. This includes providing expert and informed advice to the Monash research community, with a focus but not limited to, transferring grants and fellowships. The Senior Award Officer will also provide training and mentoring to less experienced team members in the area of specialisation.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for providing strategic support to senior management, planning and working groups in relation to the area of specialisation. You will also be responsible for providing high level support servicing complex matters within your area of specialisation, and are the first point of escalation for less experienced staff working within the area. Additionally, you will provide specialist advice and reports for senior management drawing on up-to-date knowledge and experience of relevant policy, legislation and best practice principles in area of specialisation or technical expertise 

The ideal candidate will bring a strong educational background or substantial relevant skills and work experience. The role requires a degree qualification in a relevant field with extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
