The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Research Fellow (Brain Recovery & Rehabilitation Research) to lead cutting-edge research and drive innovation in brain recovery and rehabilitation. This is a fixed-term position dedicated to delivering the PROMOTE Trial and expanding strategic research activities within the Department of Neuroscience.

As a Senior Research Fellow, you will:

  • Provide strong academic leadership and research expertise to shape and execute translational research programs
  • Oversee and manage the PROMOTE Trial, contributing to ground-breaking advancements in brain recovery and rehabilitation in the area of implementation science
  • Forge and sustain strategic partnerships with industry, hospitals, and universities to enhance research outcomes
  • Supervise and mentor a talented team of researchers while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Deliver high-impact publications and secure external funding to advance the University’s national and international reputation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research, generating impactful publications and conference presentations
  • Supervise and develop research staff and postgraduate students, nurturing the next generation of neuroscience leaders
  • Lead the preparation of grant proposals and oversee financial management for research projects
  • Collaborate across disciplines and institutions to expand the Department’s research portfolio and influence
  • Support governance, strategic planning, and academic leadership within the Department

About You:
To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • A doctoral qualification in neuroscience or a related discipline and significant postdoctoral research experience
  • A strong record of publications and success in securing competitive research funding
  • Proven expertise in leading and supervising research teams and postgraduate researchers
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into impactful outcomes in medicine or healthcare
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with a collaborative mindset
