The Opportunity

Monash University’s Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking an innovative and dedicated Associate Professor/ Professor (Education-Focused) to lead advancements in teaching, curriculum design, and educational research.

About the Role

As an Associate Professor/ Professor (Education-Focused), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the department's education strategy, ensuring students are engaged with cutting-edge teaching practices and prepared for impactful careers in health and medical sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of innovative, student-centered teaching activities.
  • Develop and review curriculum and assessments to ensure alignment with current trends and best practices.
  • Drive educational innovation across interdisciplinary teams and programs.
  • Mentor and build the teaching capacity of academic staff within the department.
  • Conduct high-quality educational research that influences national and international teaching practices.
  • Foster partnerships within and beyond the university to enhance educational outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for an education leader with:

  • A doctoral qualification or equivalent expertise in a relevant discipline.
  • A proven record of teaching excellence, including curriculum innovation and delivery.
  • National recognition for contributions to educational practice and research.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience mentoring academic staff.
  • A demonstrated ability to secure external funding for educational research and innovation.
  • A passion for engaging with students and fostering their success.
