Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences is looking for an exceptional Alumni Engagement and Events Manager.
This opportunity will suit someone who is not afraid of getting their hands dirty in the conception, planning, and implementation of innovative faculty activities and strategic initiatives. The successful applicant will be passionate about delivering innovative and large-scale events that enhance the Faculty’s reputation, align with brand values, and support strategic initiatives. They will work closely with central External Relations, Development and Alumni (ERDA) teams and maintain strong communication with the broader faculty External Relations team.
The Alumni Engagement and Events Manager will lead the strategic development and execution of impactful programs and events designed to foster alumni engagement. A core responsibility of this role will involve delivering high-profile, flagship events that strengthen global alumni networks and highlight the Faculty's contributions on a global stage. Collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders is also crucial to ensure alignment with institutional priorities.
A significant aspect of this role is to create and sustain innovative event programs that not only engage alumni but also reinforce university objectives. This includes building relationships with external stakeholders, fostering connections within the alumni community, and coordinating with staff across the University to achieve shared goals through event-driven engagement. Leveraging advertising, social media, website enhancements, and database management, the successful applicant will expand and strengthen relationships with alumni locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
To be successful in the role the successful applicant will have:
- A track record in developing programs that build lasting relationships
- Proven ability and extensive experience in alumni activities, including a sound knowledge of appropriate concepts, methods and practices
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, people management, system management and reporting skills
- Highly regarded interpersonal and influencing skills together with a forward-thinking, strategic approach
- An ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
- Highly versed with event management and/or marketing & communications
