The Opportunity

Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is looking for a dynamic, innovative, and ambitious Senior Management Accountant to join our high-performing team.

As part of the Faculty, you’ll be at the heart of a world-class educational and research powerhouse. For over 140 years, we’ve been shaping the future of pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and healthcare. We’re ranked in the top 3 worldwide for Pharmacy and Pharmacology, with our Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) driving world-leading research initiatives and groundbreaking contributions to global health.

In this strategic role, you’ll play a key part in driving the Faculty’s growth, managing finances, and ensuring the sustainable delivery of exceptional teaching and research outcomes. You’ll work closely with the Faculty Business Manager and the Chief Operating Officer of MIPS, providing expert financial advice and strategic insights to support the Faculty’s budgeting, resource management, and financial goals.

Your expertise will support critical initiatives, including the Faculty’s student load and revenue growth, as well as cutting-edge research programs in areas like cancer, neuroscience, global health, and more. With a high level of independence, you'll be integral in managing financial operations, transactional processing, and liaising with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the budgeting and financial planning processes to support new initiatives and continued growth.
  • Provide effective financial management reporting to support Faculty operations and strategic decision-making
  • Provide expert financial advice and support to budget managers and ensure timely completion of financial transactions.
  • Conduct in-depth financial, operational and costing analysis to inform Faculty projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with departments and external stakeholders to manage contractual relationships and ensure financial objectives are met.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative, world-class institution at the cutting edge of research and education.
