The Opportunity

Monash University is seeking a Research Adviser to play a pivotal role in enhancing alumni and stakeholder engagement. In this position, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis to provide valuable insights on alumni and key University stakeholders, supporting events, awards, programs, and more. Your work will contribute to the University's strategic goals by improving the quality of information in Monash’s alumni database, while also preparing high-quality reports and briefings for senior leadership. 

This position will be responsible for overseeing and administering a range of research and reporting services to support the  External Engagement portfolio enabling high-level, bespoke engagement between prominent alumni, stakeholders, and the University. You will proactively identify, research, and profile individual alumni, alumni cohorts, and key stakeholders, aligning with the University’s Alumni Engagement Plan and broader strategic goals. You will assist in creating alumni research snapshots, individual alumni profiles, guest lists for events, and nomination lists for awards, while also providing specialised reports on progress, recommendations, and advice on complex issues for a variety of audiences, including senior management. Additionally, you will adopt and implement new research techniques, ensuring compliance with Monash University’s Data Protection and Privacy procedures.

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience and deep knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, alongside programs that support desktop research and data capture, such as Sales Navigator. You will possess a broad understanding of corporate Australia and industry sectors, with a strong intellectual curiosity and persistence for intelligence gathering. You will have superior written communication skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail with experience producing professional biographies, reports, and briefings. Additionally, you will demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a small dynamic team dedicated to bespoke engagement with prominent alumni and stakeholders.
