The Opportunity

The Strategic Adviser to the Dean plays a crucial role in advancing the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture (MADA) by providing expert strategic guidance for developing, implementing, and coordinating external relationships and growth initiatives.

In this role you will be responsible for providing high-level strategic advice to the Dean on higher education issues, including policy, legislative changes, and regulatory matters, while developing and managing strategic relationships with industry partners to advance Faculty objectives. You will oversee the Dean’s strategic communications, preparing briefing papers, speeches, and reports on complex issues, and serve as the primary liaison for government relations, building relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring compliance with guidelines. Additionally, you will direct the Faculty's strategic proposal development process including large-scale interdisciplinary projects and industry collaborations.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven ability to develop and sustain relationships and networks across a diverse range of stakeholders, with a developed understanding and knowledge in the creative arts and built environment sectors. You will possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective liaison with key stakeholders, including industry and government. Your extensive experience in managing strategic relations, both locally and internationally, coupled with high-level policy advice, will be essential. Additionally, you will demonstrate advanced writing, presentation, research, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in communication tools and technology.
