The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Advancement in a key leadership role and drive transformative philanthropic initiatives, engaging donors at the highest levels to support the University philanthropic goals.
About the Role
- Strategically Fundraise: Spearhead initiatives targeting gifts of $100K and above while building a robust pipeline of donations exceeding $1M+ to achieve the University’s philanthropic goals.
- Cultivate Donor Relationships: Spend the majority of your time externally focused, fostering meaningful connections with alumni and non-alumni donors to inspire gifts of institutional significance and scale.
- Lead with Impact: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of fundraisers, driving collaboration and achieving a meaningful contribution to annual targets at the major and principal gift level.
- Align Strategies: Provide authoritative and specialist advice to senior management, ensuring philanthropic strategies align with Monash University’s Strategic Plan, Impact 2030.
- Collaborate Across the University: Work closely with Deans, academic leaders, and divisions to craft compelling proposals and secure transformational gifts.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- A track record of success in securing large-scale philanthropic gifts, preferably in the higher education sector.
- Proven ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies that engage a broad range of stakeholders, alumni and potential donors.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a donor-centric focus.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide a high-performing team.
- A passion for creating positive and lasting impact through philanthropy.
