The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking an Academic Services Librarian to provide expert advice and support for strategic research and education initiatives. This dynamic role includes guiding researchers and graduate students with scholarly communication, open research, and research data. As an Academic Services Librarian, you will be responsible for collaborating with Academic Services colleagues, using agile methods to design and deliver targeted research and education services. You will also be responsible for leading and participating in projects that enhance library programs and services. You will provide expert advice to researchers on scholarly communication, research data, and scholarly impact throughout the research lifecycle. You will provide expert advice to educators on readings, the adoption, adaptation and creation of Open Education Resources and research skills programs to support their teaching; and to students on resource discovery, use and evaluation.
As the successful candidate, you will have a strong understanding of the research and education environments in higher education, with experience developing and delivering quality client programs. You will possess excellent organisational and project management and communication skills, with the ability to lead projects, and prioritise and deliver agreed outcomes within deadlines. You will also have demonstrated expertise in scholarly communication, research impact, open scholarship, library enquiry work, and the design and delivery of digital/research skills programs.
