The Opportunity
The Facility Manager supports the General Manager in the delivery of Monash Biomedical Imaging’s operations and manages the Clayton node of MBI. This includes managing a range of strategic and operational activities including planning, functional service delivery, projects, reporting, business improvement, performance measurement, resources management and administration. The position provides leadership to the administration team and provides expert advice at both strategic and operational levels.
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing complex facility operations, ensuring compliance with University policies, OHS, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Leading and developing a highly skilled team focused on delivering excellent customer service.
- Driving continuous improvement in business practices, operational processes, and service delivery.
- Conducting research and data analysis, providing regular business reports and insights.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships, collaborations and networks with the research community, industry and other stakeholders.
- Overseeing budgeting, project management, risk, compliance, and quality assurance to support MBI's growth.
The ideal candidate will have strong operational management and customer service skills, with experience providing technical and policy advice in a research setting. Proven experience supporting research will leave them well situated to advance the platform’s objectives. They will demonstrate excellent planning, organizational, and resource management abilities, ideally in a research facility setting. With proven staff management experience, they will motivate and develop high-performance teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are also essential, along with expertise in quality management, ISO9001 accreditation, and the ability to implement and maintain quality systems.
