The Opportunity

Climateworks Centre is seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of International Programs and Engagement to lead the development of Climateworks Centre’s international programs and external engagement, enhancing the impact and successful delivery of the organisation’s program goals.

As a key member of our Executive Leadership Team, you will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to manage and deliver on the strategic plans and goals of Climateworks.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of International Programs and Engagement:

  • Leads the development and execution of international programs and engagement strategies, overseeing Climateworks’ initiatives outside Australia, including programs in Indonesia and South East Asia.
  • Drives the external engagement strategy, overseeing strategic goal-setting, impact monitoring, and evaluation to ensure Climateworks maximises its influence and effectiveness.
  • Shapes Climateworks’ external communication strategy, overseeing narrative development, media engagement, and representation at global, regional and national forums.
  • Represents Climateworks externally, fostering high-level relationships with key international and in-country stakeholders.
  • Works collaboratively with senior leadership, providing expert advice on strategic and operational decisions, as well as enhancing the impact, reputation and financial sustainability of Climateworks’.
  • Embeds a culture of learning and reflection, supporting Climateworks’ ambition to drive system-level transformation.

About You

We are looking for a strategic leader who brings:

  • In depth knowledge of international and country-level climate policy, with experience working in or with Australian and South East Asian country stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with experience in impact monitoring, evaluation, and system change approaches.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit coupled with proven ability to innovate and champion the exploration of new ideas and methodologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a track record of developing and maintaining influential relationships across government, industry, and research sectors.
  • Leadership experience at a senior level, with the ability to guide teams, foster collaboration, and drive an ambitious agenda.
  • A passion for climate action, combined with the ability to translate vision into tangible impact.
