The Opportunity

Are you ready to lead and innovate identity at one of the world's top universities? As the Identity and Collaboration Platforms Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day management and operations of our dynamic team. This team is the backbone of several core platforms, including Google Workspace, Okta, and Microsoft Identity Manager, and works closely with the Core Authentication Services team managing the University’s Active Directory and EntraID systems.

Your Impact

  • Support a growing Global Enterprise: Manage identity and collaboration services for over 180,000 users, 60,000 managed groups, and 30,000 devices across our Australian and international campuses.
  • Leading Innovation: Monash University is a leader in identity management, being the first University in Australia to roll out MFA to all users, and we were one of the first large organizations in Australia to roll out DMARC. Lead the team in driving excellence and innovation, and find opportunities for delivering the next industry leading capability.
  • Collaborate & Develop: Work with the other key teams in the Enterprise Engineering group to develop standard and bespoke solutions to meet unique business objectives.
  • Lead Major Change: Manage the implementation of enterprise projects and initiatives with institution-wide impact.

What You'll Bring

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Infrastructure Management Experience: Proven experience in a matrix or large, complex management structure.
  • Team Management Skills: Leading, empowering and coaching a team of talented experts.
  • Workstream Delivery Skills: Planning and managing work streams, developing product roadmaps, and overall strategic plans for your group
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Build successful relationships, influence, negotiate, and achieve consensus at senior levels. 
  • Change Management: Demonstrated ability to manage major change initiatives in a complex and specialized area of operations.
