The Opportunity

As a Library Experience Assistant, you are one of a team of 18 seasonal employees supporting the Libraries for Belonging project and providing welcoming spaces and services for Monash students, staff, Alumni, and visitors across six libraries during the afternoon, night and weekends. You will be actively involved in contributing to the design and implementation of projects that support our libraries as inclusive places, and which actively contribute to student wellbeing, retention and inclusion; we aspire to delight by exceeding their expectations.

The Library Experience Assistant role at Caulfield requires the ability to work on rostered shifts between 4pm and midnight on weekdays and during the day on the weekend to support the service delivery needs of the Library.  

The role includes:

  • Contributing, with other library colleagues, to the design, delivery, and evaluation of user experience programs supporting inclusion and belonging in the Library 
  • Ensuring the libraries are welcoming and safe spaces
  • Responding to, answering, and referring enquiries from library users
  • Supporting access to library collections
