The Opportunity

The Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking a professional Lecturer to join their team. We’re seeking a part-time Level B Academic (Lecturer) for a fixed-term, 7-month appointment to contribute to our esteemed Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) program. In this role, you will engage in high-quality teaching and curriculum delivery, helping to prepare students for professional practice through a strong focus on occupation and health, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-informed care. You will play a key role in coordinating and delivering content related to professional knowledge and skills, using innovative teaching methods including workshops and e-learning technologies, while also contributing to curriculum development in areas aligned with your expertise.

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in occupational therapy theory and professional practice experience in at least one of the following areas: occupation-focused practice, mental health, psychosocial disability, or aged care. This part-time role offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to a vibrant academic team and support student learning by supervising community and research projects, as applicable. Reporting to the Head of the Department of Occupational Therapy, this position is ideal for professionals looking to bring their clinical experience into a university setting while playing a vital role in shaping the future of occupational therapy education.
This individual will have a current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of the Australian Health Professions Registration Authority (Ahpra).

The Department of Occupational Therapy sits within the School of Primary and Allied Health Care (SPAHC), which harnesses a range of expertise, including physiotherapy, paramedicine, podiatry, social work and medical imaging and radiation sciences, along with occupational therapy. Our cross-disciplinary approach addresses society's most vital questions.
