The Opportunity
The Department of Fine Art is seeking an organised and proactive Administrative Officer to support the smooth and efficient operation of our Department and academic units. In this dynamic role, you will provide high-quality administrative and executive support, helping to coordinate day-to-day operations, assist communications and workflows, and support academic activities. As a central point of contact for staff, students, and external stakeholders, your professionalism and attention to detail will ensure excellence in service delivery.
This position will be responsible for delivering a broad range of administrative services, including coordinating meetings, producing documentation, maintaining records, and supporting teaching delivery functions such as timesheet administration. You'll respond to inquiries, manage data securely, and provide timely advice to colleagues and stakeholders. In addition, you’ll contribute to faculty events, support project activities, and play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance administrative efficiency and service quality. Maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring compliance with university policies will be key to your success.
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Your strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills will enable you to respond effectively to a variety of stakeholders. Proficiency in business software and ERP systems, along with a sound understanding of university processes and procedures, will help you thrive in this role and support the Faculty’s operational success. A background or genuine interest in art or art history is also desirable.
