The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and strategic Transnational Education Development Manager (China) to join the International Engagement team, within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and Senior Vice-President portfolio. This role supports the University's International initiatives in key markets such as Mainland China, including but not limited to, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, by identifying, developing and supporting the implementation of strategies that strengthen Monash’s international profile and partnerships in China. It involves managing and expanding large internal and external stakeholder relationships and networks and plays a key role in advancing the University’s long-term vision for impactful transnational education collaboration.
This position will be responsible for identifying emerging market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and supporting the implementation of country-specific engagement plans. You will manage high-level communications, prepare strategic briefings, and deliver actionable insights through trend analysis and competitor monitoring. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, you’ll work across internal teams and external partners to foster collaboration, expand enrolments, and ensure alignment with university goals. The role also involves managing complex international projects from conception to execution, with accountability for risk assessment, strategic advice, and driving initiatives that support Monash’s competitive global position.
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in transnational education development within China, including a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, partnership models, and government policy. You’ll bring exceptional project leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, fluency in both spoken and written Chinese, and the ability to craft persuasive communications for diverse audiences. A strategic thinker and collaborator, you will thrive in cross-cultural environments, working with Monash leaders and partners to deliver high-impact outcomes.
