About Us
At the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies (M3CS) our mission is to conduct cutting-edge research across humanities, psychology, medicine, and neuroscience. We aim to deliver innovative, experiential, and evidence-based education on mindfulness, contemplative practices, and perennial wisdom, engaging extensively with contemplative communities and partner organisations.
The Opportunity
In this position, you will conduct independent and team research, focusing on behavioural science, neuroscience, psychology and philosophy of cognition. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, performing statistical analysis, collaborating on conceptual analysis and experimental design, publishing research articles, and working on research grant applications.
About You
You hold a doctoral qualification, with a background in Philosophy, Psychology and Neuroscience, and have strong skills in theoretical analysis, experimental design, and statistical analysis (e.g., specifically, the role involves experimental studies of traits, development, attitudes and behaviours concerning consciousness, self, AI, and contemplative studies, incl. statistical analysis for big data, using online and in person data collection, w/Bayesian statistics and mixed linear models, as well as cluster, latent class and mediation analyses). You have experience with manuscript and research proposal preparation, and have a solid publication record relative to your career stage, and a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
