The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Management Accountant to provide specialist accounting expertise in support of the University’s finance strategy. The role oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, modelling, performance monitoring, and leads the student revenue functions—including analysis, reporting, allocations, and the annual fee-setting process. It also contributes to major financial projects, drives improvements to planning and analytics platforms, and ensures compliance with regulatory and policy frameworks.

The position delivers expert advice to support business decision-making, manages financial risks, and responds to strategic challenges through scenario modelling, cost-benefit analysis, and reporting. Working closely with senior finance executives and a wide network of stakeholders, the analyst promotes high-quality service delivery, continuous improvement, and supports capability building across the team.

About You

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to apply accounting standards and financial policies in a complex organisation, with expertise in developing, preparing, and monitoring complex budgets, forecasts, income/expenditure, and cash flow—balancing control requirements with commercial outcomes

  • Possess highly developed numeracy, analytical, and conceptual skills, with a proven ability to rapidly grasp complex concepts and information, and deliver effective, innovative solutions through strong business partnering and collaboration.

  • Proven record in delivering and overseeing the full range of financial management responsibilities, including financial reporting, analysis and auditing investigative skills.

  • Outstanding computer literacy, including experience using SAP and TM1, or a similar financial management system for financial data analysis

  • Advanced skills in analysing financial data and developing financial models using Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query knowledge is desirable).
