The Opportunity
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to provide expert, forward-thinking research and revenue accounting advice and support across complex research activities. In this pivotal role, you will partner with stakeholders across the University to influence financial decisions, optimise research outcomes, and ensure robust financial planning, reporting and compliance in support of Monash’s globally recognised research portfolio.
This position will be responsible for proactively delivering high-quality, client-focused financial support through research grant budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders to develop and analyse complex budgets, identify issues before they arise, and provide options for mitigation. You'll consistently deliver exceptional finance partnering services, embedding continuous improvement into day-to-day practice. Leveraging strong networks and communication skills, you’ll foster collaboration and provide clear, actionable financial insights and advice. Your input will contribute to planning, governance, reporting and policy development across the R&R accounting landscape.
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in financial management, particularly in complex budgeting and analysis, along with exceptional communication skills to engage with a broad range of stakeholders. You’ll be a proactive problem solver with a strong customer service mindset, and bring commercial acumen, organisational excellence and sound leadership capability. Proficiency in financial systems such as SAP, a collaborative approach, and the ability to distil and present complex financial data clearly will be essential in this role.
