The Opportunity
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll provide expert Research & Revenue (R&R) accounting support and advice to internal clients. You will play a critical role in managing complex financial transactions, preparing and overseeing budgets and associated financial reporting for research grants and contracts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
This position will be responsible for delivering proactive, high-impact R&R accounting services and operational support. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will partner with academic and research clients to optimise research funding and guide financial decision-making. Your responsibilities will include preparing and monitoring complex budgets, undertaking budget/forecast and management reporting, and performance analysis for research grants and clinical trials. You will provide leadership and management to team members to deliver R&R accounting and support services, foster strong relationships with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in service delivery.
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and CPA or CA accreditation, along with extensive experience providing finance related advice and expertise in preparing and monitoring complex budgets. You will bring exceptional communication skills, the ability to lead and mentor teams, and a commitment to excellence in customer service. A strong commercial mindset, strategic thinking, and high-level analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes.
