The Opportunity

The Office of Research Grants and Development is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Administrative Officer to support our vibrant research community. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to world-class research by providing high-quality administrative support across the research lifecycle.

As a key member of the Awards team, you’ll play an essential role in supporting researchers with grant setup, variations, transfers, and reporting. Your strong organisational skills, customer service mindset, and analytical thinking will help ensure smooth and efficient delivery of post-award services.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate post-award processes including project setup, variations, transfers and reporting
  • Provide responsive and professional support to the Monash researcher community
  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records and data using research management systems such as Pure and Salesforce (UniCRM)
  • Contribute to process improvements and support operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet team goals and uphold service excellence
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements and university policies

About You

You’re an enthusiastic and capable administrator with a passion for supporting research. You bring a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and service.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in administration or a related field
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • High-level computer literacy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the university research environment and funding schemes (desirable)

The Office of Research Grants and Development works closely with Monash researchers, faculties, funding bodies and industry to facilitate the University’s research objectives. It does this through an active program of identifying and developing funding opportunities, providing active and timely assistance to researchers in the grant application process, administering awards, and providing statistical research data.
