In this newly created Collection Acquisition Senior Librarian role there is a pivotal part to play in ensuring our users can easily access the resources they need.
As a senior librarian, you will:
- Help lead and support delivery of high-quality acquisition to resource access outcomes, drawing on your library vendor and publisher negotiation skills, collection data analysis expertise, and deep knowledge of library systems and technologies.
- Supervise and support a small team of specialists to effectively maintain all electronic resource management lifecycle activities.
- Collaborate across teams and act as a key liaison point between internal stakeholders and external library vendors and suppliers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in cross-team workflows to enhance library practices and service delivery.
- Champion an evidence-based, fit-for-purpose library collection aligned with the evolving needs of researchers and educators.
Your experience in library acquisitions and electronic resource management, your technical acumen, working knowledge of library management systems, combined with your high-level problem-solving skills will enable you to support and resolve a variety of complex challenges.
As an effective leader you will empower your specialist team members and those around you to maintain a relevant, sustainable and accessible collection. Through proactive communications, strategic thinking and advocacy for innovation and scholarly resource management you will help foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning.
