The Opportunity

Monash University is seeking an experienced and innovative Team Leader to lead multi-site retail operations across the Clayton, Caulfield and Peninsula campuses. In this role, you will manage and develop high-performing retail teams, oversee safe, compliant and efficient day-to-day operations, and ensure consistent service standards across all sites. You will be responsible for staff capability development, inventory and supplier management, merchandising and promotional activity, POS accuracy, and maintaining engaging, well-presented store environments. The role also involves budget oversight and financial performance, using sales and inventory data and retail technologies to optimise stock control, gross margins and overall store performance, while driving continuous improvement and new product initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring proven retail leadership experience, ideally across multiple sites, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, sound commercial judgement and a hands-on, customer-focused approach. You will demonstrate the ability to analyse sales and financial data, negotiate with suppliers, implement efficient retail systems, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
