The Opportunity
The Graduate Research Manager is responsible for advancing the Faculty’s graduate research strategy, fostering collaboration across Schools, leadership teams, and industry partners, and enhancing the profile of the Faculty’s research programs. This role provides strategic oversight of the graduate research portfolio, aligns initiatives with broader objectives, and strengthens the Faculty’s research culture, capability, and reputation through innovative, forward-looking engagement.
The role provides leadership in the delivery of the Faculty’s graduate research programs, overseeing student administration, candidature progression, scholarships, and examinations. You will manage and develop a high-performing team, coordinate strategic projects, and ensure compliance, quality assurance, and effective resource allocation. You will also undertake data analysis and reporting, build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement to enhance the Faculty’s graduate research operations.
As the successful candidate, you will bring exceptional operational management and organisational skills, with proven experience in resource allocation, priority setting, and delivering complex projects within large, matrixed structures. You will demonstrate strong analytical, evaluation, and research capabilities, coupled with the ability to provide authoritative technical and policy advice. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation, influencing, and consensus-building at senior levels, are essential, alongside experience supporting change initiatives and fostering high-performance teams.
