The Opportunity

Education-focused staff at Monash lead contemporary, evidence-informed practice, and this role is integral to shaping outstanding learning experiences in nutrition and dietetics. The position enhances the Department’s national and international reputation through high-quality teaching across flagship undergraduate and master’s programs, while driving innovation in curriculum design and delivery.

This position will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences across lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops, field excursions and clinical settings. It promotes inclusive, student-centred teaching, integrating contemporary technologies and authentic assessment aligned with professional standards. The role leads unit and course development, supports consistent and constructive feedback practices, and draws on systematic evaluation and student insight to enhance curriculum quality. Through ongoing renewal and collaboration, the position ensures graduates are well prepared for evolving industry and community expectations.

We are seeking applicants with a doctoral qualification or equivalent research and teaching experience in nutrition and dietetics, together with Accredited Practising Dietitian status recognised by Dietitians Australia. The role requires demonstrated expertise in tertiary curriculum design, delivery and evaluation, strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across academic and industry settings. Evidence of scholarly activity that informs education practice, along with an understanding of contemporary workforce and employability expectations, is also essential.
