The Lecturer will make a strong contribution to the University’s teaching effort while maintaining and advancing high-quality scholarly, research and professional activities aligned with the discipline. The Lecturer will play a key role in delivering outcomes for M3CS, working in alignment with the Centre’s mission, approaches and methodologies.
The role involves teaching within the M3CS stream of undergraduate electives and postgraduate coursework units, with a teaching specialisation in contemplative studies and demonstrated tertiary teaching experience in this area. The Lecturer will also undertake theoretical and empirical research, supported by a strong publication track record in areas such as experimental psychology and cognitive science, moral psychology, and contemplative studies. In addition, the Lecturer will contribute to the development of research-based funding opportunities and competitive grant applications aligned with the Centre’s strategic priorities.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area, or have submitted your PhD thesis for examination, or possess equivalent accreditation and standing. You will demonstrate a strong record of teaching experience in a tertiary environment, with a focus on contemplative studies education, and have proven experience in curriculum and subject material development. You will be able to motivate, actively engage and educate diverse audiences, and work positively and cooperatively with students, internal and external teams, and external organisations.
You will bring a high level of interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across education and service sectors. You will possess strong statistical analysis and manuscript preparation skills, supported by a solid and growing track record of refereed research publications in experimental psychology and cognitive science, moral psychology, and contemplative studies.
