Why this role matters
As our Policy and Stakeholder Coordinator, you’ll be key to Climateworks’ mission to shift Australia’s public policy and climate action. You’ll work across our systems teams to facilitate and support development of the insights, evidence and relationships that help governments deliver ambitious climate outcomes. Your work will ensure our ideas don't sit on a shelf - it will inform leaders, strengthen collaborations, and help unlock the policies that cut emissions at scale.
What you’ll do
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Coordinate cross-organisational workstreams that fuel climate ambition, from government relations to stakeholder engagement.
- Undertake research, policy analysis, interviews, and knowledge gathering to produce policy briefs, submissions, presentations, reports and more.
- Support Climateworks to build trusted relationships with public sector decision-makers, industry partners and experts across the climate movement.
- Translate complex information into powerful, audience-ready insights that influence policy and spark action.
- Support teams with clear advice, strategic perspectives, and evidence that strengthens our policy impact.
- Plan, organise and manage tasks, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure high-quality delivery every time.
- Foster collaboration, share knowledge across the organisation, and help grow the culture of impact and excellence at Climateworks.
What you bring
You thrive at the intersection of public policy, research, and stakeholder engagement. You’re a natural collaborator with sharp analytical skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to turn complex climate and policy information into compelling narratives. You know how government works and how to work with government to deliver meaningful change.
Your background includes:
- Experience working with or within government, ideally in areas linked to climate change
- Highly developed government relations and communication skills
- Strong policy development and coordination capabilities
- The confidence to provide expert advice and operate with autonomy
- A passion for climate impact and a drive to contribute to system-wide transformation
Why join us?
