The Opportunity

The next Head of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering will bring dynamic leadership experience, strategic vision, collegiality, and an ability to inspire colleagues. 

The appointee will be an outstanding scholar and generous academic who has made substantial contributions to knowledge in their field. This person will help to foster interdisciplinary thematic research, innovative education offerings that appeal to the students of tomorrow, and engagement with industry and government that leverages the department’s strengths to have an impact, solving many of the most pressing problems our society faces. 

Candidates will also need to demonstrate an ability to contribute as a member of the Faculty’s leadership team and have a strong alignment with the direction of the Monash Faculty of Engineering. 

The professorial appointment will be a continuing appointment in the department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and will include the role of head of department for an initial period of up to 3 years with opportunity for renewal.
