Remuneration: $120,138 - $132,610 pa HEW Level 8 (plus 17% employer superannuation) or $106,789 - $117,128 pa HEW Level 7 (plus 17% employer superannuation) depending on the successful applicant's skills and experience

The Opportunity
Join Climateworks Centre as our Senior Research Manager or Research Coordinator - Land Use and play a leading role in transforming Australia’s agriculture and land sector toward a net zero and nature-positive future.
In this pivotal position, you will bring your specialist expertise in land use, ecosystem services, biodiversity, agriculture or food systems to guide, deliver and elevate high-impact research that informs national decision-making. Your work will help government, industry and communities understand the choices that shape tomorrow’s landscapes.

Lead Research with Real-World Impact
In this role, you will:
- Oversee and execute complex modelling, analysis and research projects that underpin strategic pathways for a sustainable land-use transition.
- Translate rigorous research into clear, influential insights—producing position papers, technical reports, briefings and presentations that reach diverse audiences.
- Build and manage powerful collaborations across research institutions, industry, government and community partners.
- Guide strategic direction for land-sector research within Climateworks, influencing our broader modelling and program design.
Drive Excellence Across Projects and Teams
You’ll bring strong project leadership, analytical capability and organisational acumen—ensuring research is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest integrity standards. You will also contribute to funding proposals, manage research budgets, and help build a thriving, high-performing team.
Who You Are
You’re an experienced research specialist with deep knowledge in sustainable land use and a proven ability to turn data into strategic, actionable insight. You excel in stakeholder engagement, thrive in complex research environments, and bring strong writing, communication and modelling skills (with familiarity in Python or spatial modelling seen as an advantage).
