As Senior Lecturer and Deputy Director of Medical Student Education (Alfred), you will play a central role in shaping the next generation of doctors within the Monash University School of Translational Medicine.
Working at the heart of the Alfred Research Alliance, you will partner with leading clinicians and educators to deliver an exceptional clinical education experience for Monash MD students. You will support and influence curriculum design, drive evidence-based teaching innovation, and contribute to a program recognised for its clinical excellence and real-world impact.
This role is ideal for a specialist clinician with a passion for education, someone who thrives in the clinical environment but is equally motivated to shape how medicine is taught, learned, and improved.
You will:
- Co-lead the delivery of medical student education across the Alfred clinical precinct
- Design and implement high-quality, clinically embedded teaching programs
- Drive innovation in teaching, assessment, and student engagement
- Contribute to educational scholarship and research in medical education
- Influence curriculum development within one of Australia’s largest MD programs
- Represent the School in key education committees and strategic initiatives
About You
You are a respected clinician and educator who brings both credibility in clinical practice and a genuine commitment to teaching excellence.
You will demonstrate:
- Specialist consultant accreditation within a major teaching hospital environment (Alfred/Bayside Health)
- A strong track record in clinical teaching and course coordination at a tertiary level
- Experience designing and delivering engaging, evidence-based learning experiences
- A growing or established research profile, with publications and/or educational scholarship
- The ability to influence, collaborate and lead within complex clinical and academic environments
- A passion for mentoring and developing future healthcare professionals
A doctoral or equivalent qualification, or significant standing within your discipline, will be essential.
