The Opportunity

The School of Rural Health has an opportunity available for a Finance Manager to deliver high-quality financial management services across Monash Rural Health. The position provides financial oversight, supporting budget management, forecasting and resource allocation across multiple sites and programs. Working within University financial standards, the role contributes to effective decision-making and ensures the sustainable operation of teaching, research and service delivery activities.

The position is responsible for providing financial support and guidance to managers and staff across Monash Rural Health, overseeing budgets, external funding programs and financial reporting. This includes supporting major funding initiatives such as the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program and other government-funded grants, while ensuring strong financial governance, compliance and reporting accuracy. The role also supports operational improvements and contributes to the ongoing refinement of financial processes and systems.

We are seeking someone with a relevant qualification in finance, such as CA or CPA accreditation, or extensive experience delivering financial management services within a complex environment. Strong financial management and analytical skills are essential, along with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and the use of financial systems.
