The Opportunity

Join a dynamic Precision Medicine environment where advanced laboratory science supports impactful research outcomes. The Technical Officer delivers high-quality technical services across biological sample processing, controlled storage and high-throughput molecular genetic analyses. This role is central to coordinating laboratory activities and ensuring the secure handling and distribution of valuable biological materials across local, national and international collaborators.

Working closely with the Precision Medicine team and senior academic staff, the position ensures efficient laboratory operations through strong coordination, equipment management and adherence to protocols. This position will also undertake complex molecular genetic analyses at scale, support research activities and provide guidance and training to staff and stakeholders to ensure consistent and compliant use of specialised systems and processes.

We are seeking someone with a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, supported by strong analytical, organisational and technical skills. Experience in molecular genetic techniques, data analysis and advanced laboratory technologies, including automation and robotics, is also essential.
