Are you an experienced scientific operations professional who thrives on delivering complex projects, managing research infrastructure, and enabling world-class research outcomes?
The Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS), one of Australia's leading pharmaceutical research institutes, is seeking a highly capable Resource Manager to play a pivotal role in the establishment and ongoing operation of a new state-of-the-art Translational Research Facility located at 343 Royal Parade, Parkville.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the commissioning, and operational readiness of a major research facility supporting approximately 100 research staff and students across four floors of cutting-edge laboratory and research space.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, MIPS, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for research infrastructure, laboratory resources, equipment management, and scientific operations. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will collaborate closely with researchers, professional staff, contractors, and external service providers to ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the commissioning, and ongoing operation of research laboratories, infrastructure, and specialised equipment within the new Translational Research Facility.
- Providing expert advice and oversight on laboratory operations, chemical safety, compliance, risk management, and operational procedures.
- Managing research resources and stakeholder relationships to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-performing research environment that supports world-class scientific outcomes.
